Senior Program Officer- Veterinarians Without Borders North America

Megan Sylka is a skilled volunteer engagement professional with a background in international education, program management, youth leadership, and cross-cultural collaboration. At Veterinarians Without Borders North America, Megan leads volunteer recruitment and engagement for the GAC-funded Volunteer Cooperation Program. Before joining Veterinarians Without Borders, Megan spent many years working in international education at Canadian universities, managing global exchange programs. This foundation continues to inform her work today, particularly in fostering inclusive, transformative, and leadership-focused programming for young professionals. In her current role with VWB, she has a particular focus on supporting young professionals to become impactful contributors to global One Health initiatives, through the Emerging Leaders Program. Passionate about equity, collaboration, and capacity-building, Megan brings a strong commitment to supporting people as they grow into leaders in the international development and One Health sectors.
