The Role of Volunteers in Strengthening Civil Society and Building Peace

Set against the stunning backdrop of Cambodia’s historic temples, IVCO 2025 will be a vibrant celebration of connection, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. This year’s theme opens the door to critical and timely conversations about:
  • How volunteers play a pivotal role in strengthening civil society.
  • Strategies to counter challenges to a thriving civil society.
  • The unique power of volunteerism to promote peace within and across borders.
Inspired by Cambodia’s profound belief that ‘peace begins with the individual’, we will explore what it means to build a lasting, positive peace and the pathways volunteers can take to achieve it.
Our goal at IVCO 2025 is to spark meaningful dialogue, ignite innovative ideas, and empower every participant to take their work in civil society strengthening and peacebuilding to new heights.
