Head of Operations - National Agency for Volunteerism in Togo (ANVT)

Edem Agode is a sociologist and geographer with over 13 years of expertise in development programme management, focusing on volunteerism and youth initiatives at both national and international levels. With more than a decade of progressive experience, Edem has successfully managed socio-economic development projects and enhanced the institutional and organisational capacity of non-profit organisations across various sectors, including volunteerism, agriculture, and environmental inclusion. His work frequently involves conducting needs analyses and proposing tailored innovations that deliver significant value. During his nine-year tenure at the National Agency for Volunteerism in Togo (ANVT), Edem has taken on pivotal roles, including leading the strategic management and technical oversight of both national and international volunteering programmes. He fosters an integrated approach among diverse stakeholders to ensure the achievement of national development goals. Furthermore, Edem coordinates the development of volunteering projects that facilitate South-South and South-North exchange initiatives, connecting Togo with countries in the region and beyond. As the Director of Operations, he guarantees comprehensive training for volunteers, ensuring their assignments provide substantial benefits to themselves, their organisations, and the communities they serve. Edem remains dedicated to advancing volunteerism in alignment with both national and international development objectives. Edem and Lucie Morillon will be presenting on “The impact of reciprocity in volunteering ” in a How-to Workshop Break-out Session during the IVCO 2024 Conference.
