Office of Overseas Programming - Peace Corps

Andrea DeSantis is an expert working on the Host Country Volunteerism programming priority for the Office of Overseas Programming and Training Support at Peace Corps. She previously served as the Director of Programming and Training for Peace Corps/Samoa from 2020 until 2023 and worked for Peace Corps headquarters for five years as a Program Specialist in the Office of Global Health and HIV. In that role she supported Peace Corps staff around the world with health programming and training design and implementation. She is a licensed social worker and public health professional with over 20 years of experience managing community-driven programs addressing adolescent and reproductive health, support for expectant and parenting students, infant mortality reduction, and supportive services for adults and families experiencing homelessness. She is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from the Philippines (2001-2003) and lives in Washington, DC with her partner Renzo and two children, Nina and Luisa. Andrea will be presenting on “Empowering youth climate leaders in rural Pacific communities” in a Human Library Session during the IVCO Conference.
