Chief Executive Officer of Volunteerism Promotion and Cooperation Department - Authority for Civil Society Organisations (ACSO)

Alula Million Ketsela holds a B.A. degree in Economics, which has provided him with a solid foundation to understand the economic factors affecting the success of both Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Governmental Organisations (GOs). He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) to further enhance his skills. With over 16 years of professional experience in the NGO and GO sectors, Alula has developed expertise in managing and promoting volunteerism efforts within these organisations. Since March 2007, he has been with The Authority for Civil Society Organisations (ACSO), where he has held various positions. For the past four years, he has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Volunteerism Promotion and Cooperation Department, overseeing the development and implementation of programmes designed to promote volunteerism and foster collaboration among different organisations. Outside of his professional life, Alula is a devoted family man, married with three sons. Despite the challenges of balancing personal and professional responsibilities, his strong commitment to both ensures continued success in all areas of his life. Alula’s dedication to volunteerism and community engagement reflects his passion for making a positive impact in society. Alula and Lily Bright will be presenting on “Failing Forward: Embracing Complexity in Volunteering” in a Human Library Session during the IVCO 2024 Conference.
