With an academic background in law and international relations, Clarisse Bourjon has specialized in youth policies and volunteering at the local, European, and international levels over the course of her eight years of experience within the United Nations and the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), in Burkina Faso, New York, Haiti, and Paris.
Throughout her career, she has participated in various volunteering programs, including international solidarity workcamps, civic service, the Francophonie International Volunteering Program (VIF), and the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program. She also followed the international negotiations of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the OIF at its Permanent Delegation to the United Nations in New York.
She joined France Volontaires in 2017 and currently serves as Head of the Recognition and Valorization Department, Institutional Relations Officer, and Gender Focal Point, based at headquarters in the Paris region. She regularly speaks on the contribution of volunteering to sustainable development, as well as on the fight against voluntourism. Clarisse will be speaking on Day 3 of the IVCO programme, in the session on Taking Action, Measurement and Takeaways and will share the SDGs Radar: a tool to assess and evaluate the contribution of volunteering to the SDGs
