Dervla King is an accomplished professional with a rich background in social research, community development, and international volunteering. For the past decade, she has served as Programme Manager at Comhlámh, the Irish association of international development workers and volunteers, where she has been instrumental in fostering solidarity-based engagement between Irish and international organisations. Dervla’s work addresses critical challenges facing both people and the planet, reflecting her deep commitment to social justice and sustainability. In addition to her role at Comhlámh, Dervla is a dedicated voluntary trustee for several organisations that focus on peacebuilding, anti-militarisation, and initiatives that promote migrant solidarity. Her extensive experience and passion for these causes underscore her belief in the importance of collaborative efforts to create a more just and equitable world. Through her work, Dervla continues to inspire others to engage in meaningful action and advocacy, making significant contributions to the fields of community development and social change. Her unwavering commitment to humanitarian issues speaks to her character and dedication, positioning her as a key figure in the efforts to confront the pressing challenges of our time. Dervla is one of the co-organisers of IVCO 2024 and will be a speaker and moderator in different sessions of the conference.
