Liz Jung is a Programme Specialist for Host Country Volunteerism at the Peace Corps, where she provides expert advice to country staff on supporting domestic volunteer initiatives and programmes in partner countries. With over a decade of experience in national and community service programming and operations, Liz has developed a deep understanding of the complexities involved in promoting volunteerism. Liz holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, demonstrating her commitment to fostering effective and sustainable community development. Her personal experience as an AmeriCorps VISTA alumna also informs her work, providing a unique perspective on the importance of volunteerism in driving positive change. As a Programme Specialist, Liz is dedicated to empowering Peace Corps country staff to develop and implement impactful domestic volunteer initiatives. Her expertise and passion for promoting volunteerism have earned her recognition as a leading authority in the field, and she continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of communities around the world. Liz will be presenting on “Volunteering in Solidarity: Supporting domestic volunteerism” in a How-to Workshop during the IVCO 2024 Conference.
