Jürgen Deile

Peace Worker - Cooperation Committee for Cambodia (CCC)

A dedicated peace worker, he currently serves as a professional volunteer in the Civil Peace Service (CPS) Program with the Cooperation Committee for Cambodia (CCC) in Phnom Penh. After graduating from high school, he completed a two-year voluntary peace service in Norway. In 1996, he became a Peace Service Advisor for the Protestant Church at Dienste in Übersee e.V., contributing to advocacy efforts to establish the CPS. From 1999, he coordinated the CPS Program for professional volunteers. In 2008, Jürgen supported the development of the Weltwärts volunteer service program and was elected by participating organizations as their representative on the program committee in cooperation with the German Ministry. From 2012 to 2022, he coordinated the Personnel Secondment Program, including CPS, at Brot für die Welt in Berlin, with a focus on development and peacebuilding. He holds a Master of Arts in Political Science, Sociology, and Education, as well as a degree in Agricultural Engineering. Jürgen has been active in several functions, including spokesperson of the CPS Consortium, member of the advisory board of GIZ, and on the executive board of AGdD and AKLHÜ. His lifelong commitment to peace, volunteering, and development defines his professional and civic engagement. Jürgen will be speaking on Day 1 of the IVCO 2025 conference, in the breakout session on “Volunteers as Change-Makers: Advocacy, Activism, and Navigating Risks”
