Peace Worker - Cooperation Committee for Cambodia (CCC)

Jürgen Deile is a dedicated peace worker currently involved with the Cooperation Committee for Cambodia (CCC) in Phnom Penh, where he coordinates the Civil Peace Service Program of Brot für die Welt. His career in international development spans over three decades, beginning with his role as an Administrative Assistant at Dienste in Übersee e.V. in Stuttgart, Germany. He subsequently advanced to Programme Manager and then Head of the Personnel Secondment Unit at the Evangelischer Entwicklungsdienst e.V. (EED) in Bonn, overseeing various personnel secondment programmes. From 2012 to 2022, Jürgen served as the Coordinator for Personnel Secondment Programmes at Brot für die Welt in Berlin, contributing significantly to human resource development within international contexts. His extensive international experience includes research projects in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Colombia, focusing on rural development and agricultural practices. Jürgen holds a Master of Arts in Political Science, Sociology, and Education from the University of Stuttgart, along with a Diploma in International Agriculture. He has been actively involved in various organisations, serving on boards and committees, including the Arbeitskreis Lernen und Helfen in Übersee e.V. and the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). His lifelong commitment to peace and development is evident through his extensive work and volunteer efforts in this field. Jürgen will be presenting on “25 Years of Civil Peace Service: Professional Volunteering for Peace as a Sign of Solidarity” in a Human Library Session during the IVCO 2024 Conference.
