Philippe Dongier is the Executive Director of CECI, recognised for his effective leadership and commitment to sustainable and inclusive development. With nearly 20 years of experience at the World Bank, Philippe has held various leadership positions across multiple regions, including Afghanistan, East Africa, and South Asia, as well as in critical sectors such as community development, digital development, infrastructure, and climate change.
In addition to his extensive experience with the World Bank, Philippe brings valuable private sector expertise. He served as Managing Director of Government Affairs for Africa and later globally (excluding the USA) at General Electric, where he navigated complex corporate environments. He also worked as a corporate strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company, further enhancing his insight into strategic development.
Philippe’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Anthropology from McGill University, complemented by an MBA from INSEAD. His diverse background equips him with a unique perspective on development issues, making him a prominent figure in the fields of international development and corporate strategy. Through his work at CECI, he continues to champion initiatives that promote positive social impact and sustainable growth.
