Seher Afsheen

Project Implementation Lead - VSO

Seher Afsheen is the Pakistan Country Programme Manager for VSO, where she leverages over 22 years of experience as a seasoned development practitioner. Her extensive career has centred on promoting education, gender justice, and climate justice, alongside championing the inclusion and empowerment of women and youth. Ms. Afsheen’s work encompasses a variety of areas, including economic empowerment, resilience building, volunteerism, governance, and inclusive public policy. With a special interest in advancing inclusion and gender rights, she has successfully led numerous initiatives that aim to address the unique challenges faced by marginalised communities. Her commitment to fostering an equitable society has guided her work in both grassroots projects and policy advocacy, driving meaningful change at multiple levels. Through her role at VSO, Ms. Afsheen continues to work towards creating sustainable opportunities for disadvantaged groups, ensuring that their voices are heard and their rights upheld. Her dedication and expertise in the field of development have significantly contributed to shaping inclusive practices and policies in Pakistan, making her a key figure in the pursuit of social justice and empowerment in the region. Seher will be presenting on “The roles of youth volunteers in delivering education services to the most marginalised children affected by crises in Pakistan” in a Pecha-Kucha Session during the IVCO 2024 Conference.
