Information on Visas and Travelling to Cambodia

We are excited to have participants from around the globe joining IVCO 2025 in Siem Reap! Depending on your nationality, there are different visa requirements to enter Cambodia. Take a look at the information below, to see what is appropriate for you.

Who needs a visa to enter Cambodia? 

The majority of countries can apply online for a Cambodian E-Visa It is essential you print a paper copy to show at passport control.

The following countries are visa exempt: Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar.

Some countries are required to seek prior approval for visas and must apply via their local embassy. These include Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Sudan. 

 

The Cambodian E-Visa is the most appropriate for the purposes of attending the IVCO 2025 conference. 

How do you go about applying? 

Visit the official website to apply. The E-Visa is valid for 90 days starting from the date of issue, so bear this in mind when completing your application, taking into account the date of your return travel.  The E-Visa is valid for one entry and for a stay of up to 30 days. Please apply at least 3 days before your arrival.

The E-Visa is valid at these ports of entry: Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap International Airport, Poi Pet (Banteay Meanchey), Bavet (Svay Rieng), Cham Yeam (Koh Kong), Tropaeng Kreal Border Post (Stung Treng) and Sihanoukville International Airport.

Essential Documents:

Travel Document 

  • You must provide your current passport or other valid travel document with all applications and when travelling to Cambodia.
  • Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the day of arrival in Cambodia.

Photographs  

  • You will need a recent passport size photo in digital format (JPEG or PNG) 

Payment 

  • A valid credit card (Visa/MasterCard) is required to pay the fee of $35.
 
Additional Documents:

The above mentioned items are essential to apply for an E-Visa, but there is also the option to upload supporting documentation. 

Letter of Invitation 

We can provide you with a letter inviting you to the IVCO 2025 conference, outlining your role at the conference. Fill out the visa data form to get your visa invitation letter. 

It may also be helpful to also obtain a letter from your home institution, if applicable, with similar details. 

Flight or travel details  

To prove that you will leave Cambodia at the end of your visit. 

Proof of Accommodation  

Accommodation booking confirmation. 

Proof of financial means 

Bear in mind you do not have to provide all the documents listed below, just those that apply to you. 

  • Bank statements (within last 3 months). 
  • Building society books (within last 3 months). 


Proof of personal circumstances
 

  • A letter from your education provider if you are a student. 
  • Confirmation of legal residence if this is different to your nationality on your passport. 
  • Documents of employment status – a headed letter from your employer, for example. 


If travelling with children
 

You will need to show a legal document showing your relationship with the child – such as birth certificate or adoption papers.

Where to Apply? 

You can apply for an E-Visa online before you travel to Cambodia.

How long will it take? 

You should receive confirmation of your E-Visa within 3 days, but we recommend you apply well in advance, bearing in mind the 90 day validity.  The permit will be issued in PDF format and it is essential you print a paper copy to show at passport control.

Public Health requirements 

To enter Cambodia, a certificate to prove yellow fever vaccination is necessary if coming from a country listed as transmission risk. Here is a  list of countries with risk of yellow fever transmission.
