Chaioling Pie Hong is the Deputy Secretary General of the Waker Welfare Action Association, a non-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to supporting underprivileged children through international volunteerism. With extensive experience in volunteer management and cross-cultural communication, Pie has developed service strategies for Waker in 48 countries, including Taiwan, Mongolia, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Nepal, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, and various regions in Africa. Her expertise enables her to foster partnerships across diverse locations, as well as to design impactful training programmes for volunteers, empowering them to contribute meaningfully on a global scale. Under Pie’s leadership, the association ensures that volunteers are thoroughly prepared and effectively positioned to address the needs of the communities they serve. Pie is passionate about the transformative power of personal connections, believing that children are life’s greatest teachers. Her commitment to creating positive change manifests in her dedication to influencing lives through engagement and understanding, making her a strong advocate for the rights and well-being of vulnerable children. Through her work, Pie continues to inspire volunteers and communities alike, reinforcing the vital role of compassion and connection in humanitarian efforts.
