Despite the wide range of existing volunteering schemes, some groups remain excluded from participation due to social, economic, geographic, and other barriers. 

This Human Library aims to bring these accessibility challenges to life by sharing the experiences of volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds. By creating space for volunteers and organisations to share their stories, participants will explore the realities of access to volunteering, as well as the conditions that enable or limit the participation of under-represented groups. 

The session will also look at how organisations can foster more inclusive participation by adapting programmes, providing tailored support, diversifying engagement formats, and strengthening local anchoring. Speakers will also share how volunteering impacted their life paths, particularly in relation to employability and social inclusion. 

By grounding these issues in real experience, the session will invite participants to reflect on how volunteering can become more open, inclusive and accessible to a wider range of people.

Malgré la diversité des dispositifs existants, certains publics demeurent éloignés des opportunités d’engagement, en raison de freins sociaux, économiques, géographiques ou culturels. 

La bibliothèque humaine, comme son nom l’indique, vise à donner corps et vie à ces enjeux d’accessibilité, en ancrant les expériences de volontariat dans des trajectoires individuelles concrètes. À travers les témoignages de volontaires aux profils variés et d’organisations, cette session met en lumière les réalités d’accès au volontariat, ainsi que les conditions qui permettent, ou au contraire limitent, la participation de publics éloignés. 

Elle permettra d’explorer les leviers qui favorisent une participation plus inclusive : adaptation des dispositifs, accompagnement renforcé, diversification des formats d’engagement, ou encore ancrage territorial des initiatives. Les intervenants partageront également l’impact de l’engagement sur les parcours de ces publics éloignés, notamment sur leur insertion professionnelle. 

En rendant visibles ces trajectoires, la session interroge la capacité des écosystèmes de volontariat à s’ouvrir à une plus grande diversité de profils, et à faire du volontariat un véritable outil d’inclusion au service de l’Agenda 2030.
