Victoria Lovelock is Director of CCIVS (Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service), a UNESCO-affiliated global coordinating body for International Voluntary Service founded in 1948. Based in Paris, CCIVS brings together more than 170 member organisations across over 80 countries, working to promote voluntary service as a tool for peace, solidarity and sustainable development. In her role, Victoria leads CCIVS’s advocacy, programme development and international partnerships, with a particular focus on the recognition of volunteers’ skills and competencies, volunteer rights, and the decolonisation of international voluntary service. She coordinates CCIVS’s engagement with global policy processes, including at UNESCO and within the broader UN system. Victoria is the lead coordinator of C-IVS Skills, co-funded by Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, and the European Youth Foundation of the the COE, the project is developing frameworks and practical tools to document, validate and communicate the skills that volunteers acquire through their service, strengthening links between volunteering and employability. She has extensive experience working across international voluntary service, civil society development and global advocacy, and is committed to building a more equitable and evidence-based volunteering sector.
