Emiliya Asadova, Regional Policy Specialist/Team Lead on Evidence, United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme Emiliya serves as the Policy Specialist on Evidence with the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme. In this capacity Emiliya works with academia and member-states to generate knowledge, evidence and research on the contributions of volunteerism to sustainable development. Prior to this, Emiliya held various positions as Regional Policy Specialist working with UN and Governments in the Asia and the Pacific, Central Asia and Caucasus region to promote volunteerism and its integration into national, regional and UN policies and strategies for the achievement of 2030 Agenda. Before this she worked with UNV Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, UNDP Governance Section and UN Coordination Office in Uzbekistan. She has extensive programme experience on youth, volunteering as well as social innovation, policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement. Emiliya holds Master of Arts in International Business and Management from University of Westminster in UK and Bachelor of Arts in International Journalism from University of World Languages in Uzbekistan. Emiliya’s journey to the UN started with volunteering and up to present volunteering remains her passion and she tries to live up to its values and ideals.
