Christian Midence is a young Honduran leader committed to democracy, civic participation and the promotion of Christian humanist values. At 25, he serves as Minister of Youth of Honduras and President of the National Volunteer Council (CONAVOL), making him one of the youngest ministers in the country’s history. Through his leadership of the National Youth Institute (INJUVE) and CONAVOL, Christian has championed volunteering as a means of promoting solidarity, civic engagement and sustainable development. A key achievement of his tenure has been the formal establishment of CONAVOL, a process that had remained pending for more than 12 years. He has strengthened collaboration between government, civil society and international cooperation to support volunteering initiatives across Honduras. Christian also actively participates in reforestation activities and supports organisations working on environmental protection and community development. His vision is of a Honduras where volunteering is recognised as a transformative force for youth, inclusion, environmental protection and sustainable communities.
